Resort Reviews

We stayed in a premium overwater bungalow. The resort was beautiful.
The room was nice and well-equipped. Premium bungalows are a bit more private but honestly not a big difference from the regular OWB. The room had A/C but we didn’t need it because of the breeze.
Infinity pool was nice but water was coolish. The beach is long but shallow and rocky along the water’s edge and for a relatively far distance from shore. The lagoon was clear but a bit choppy because of the wind. Good sea-life with so-so coral. If you plan to snorkel and you’re not in an OWB, walk to the pier and get in. Don’t try to wade in from the beach.
Staff was very friendly. Surprisingly, the hotel was 75% Italian tourists with 20% French and only 3 Americans couples making up the rest. First time I’ve seen that in FP.
Activities: Boat to visit Turipaoa village – not much to see, picked up some snacks and water at the small magasin. Snorkeling the ocean reef drop-off – Incredible snorkeling. Amazing coral and fish life with a drop varying from about 3 feet to 5000 feet into the depths. When windy, can be very choppy.
They also offer excursions to a pearl farm, motu picnic, and hand-line fishing and sunset cruise which we didn’t participate in. Others reported good experiences although due to choppy seas, reported seasickness on the latter two excursions.
Food: Only place to eat is the hotel restaurant but food is good and they have dancing and singing during different nights to provide entertainment – nothing fancy but nice..

A lovely resort for a romantic adventure in one of French Polynesia's extraordinary atolls. Beautiful bungalows, great snorkeling, friendly

..the Manihi Pearl Beach resort was beautiful and I wished I had more than two days there. All I did was photograph, sleep, buy a black pearl and eat. Sauvage is an experience that I would do again. I took hundreds of pictures there. If you want to escape go there.

...just returned from 12 days in FP. We stayed 6 nights each at the Kia Ora Sauvage in Rangiroa and the Pearl Beach Resort in Manihi. My comment....WOW!!! The Sauvage was like staying at Gilligans Island with only 3 other couples on the whole motu. The Pearl Beach in Manihi is TRULY a class act with only 41 bungalows and all the peace and quiet you will ever need..! We have been to Bora Bora, Moorea' and Huahine as well in the past few years and have enjoyed them all...BUT...these last two atolls and the hotels and staff on them out-classed the others by far!!!
